The Ultimate Appraiser Training Experience

Q: What do I need to bring to the training?

A: Just bring yourself! We will provide a binder, notepad, itinerary, example reports, pencils, name tag as well as a carrying tote bag.

Q: Can I record the training?

A: No. Video and voice recording devices are not allowed. Due to the personalized nature of the small group training we cannot allow recording devices. However, we will record the larger group training on May 18 & 19th and provide you with access after the event.

Q: Can I bring a guest/spouse to the dinners or the training.

A: No additional guests are allow to the Ultimate Training Experience and its lunches and dinner.

However you can bring a guest for the larger group training and dinners May 17-19th.

For an additional fee you may bring a guest, spouse or office assistant to the trainings and to attend all the Welcome Dinner and Farewell Dinner. A separate fee is set-up for those guests who would just like to attend the dinners with you. Please email us about this option if you have not already done so.

Q: What food will be provided?

A: For the Ultimate Training Experience May 15-16, we will provide lunch at a local favorite restaurant on each day of the training and a dinner together on Saturday night at a surprise place. Water & coffee will be provided throughout the day as well as an afternoon snack.

For the larger training May 17-19, a casual sit-down lunch will be provided in the Il Fornaio restaurant on Monday and Tuesday of the training. Water and coffee will be available throughout the day and light snack available in the afternoon in the training room.

An informal Welcome Dinner is also included on Sunday at Il Fornaio, and a Farewell Dinner on Tuesday at Grasing's Restaurant.

Q: What is the dress attire?

A: Wear whatever you’ll feel comfortable in. Ron will be teaching in jeans (and attending the dinners in jeans as well).  The training room temperature can vary from morning to afternoon so we suggest a short sleeved shirt and sweater. The mornings and evenings can get chilly in Carmel so layers are recommended.

Q: Who should I contact if I get lost?

A: Please call Lacey’s cell phone at 914-500-3763

If she can’t be reached, here are the numbers for the La Playa Hotel (831) 293-6100

and for the Pine Inn: 831-624-3851

Q: Where should I stay?

A: Please click here to jump to hotel recommendations on this page.

Q: How do I get to Carmel, the La Playa Hotel and the Pine Inn (flights & directions)?

A: Please view the flight information here and go here for the map to the hotels on this page.

Q: Where do I park?

A: Most of downtown Carmel is located within 5 square blocks. You will likely not need a car once you get here.

If you’re staying at the Pine Inn, hotel guests can obtain a parking permit to park in their lot which has enough spaces for 1/2 their guests. They typically have plenty of parking spots for guests early in the week.

If you’re not staying at the Pine Inn we recommend walking to the Pine Inn for the trainings if your hotel is nearby.

If you do need to drive, we recommend finding a parking spot just west of the Pine Inn (towards the ocean). You’ll find about 3 blocks of all day parking on Ocean Ave. Most other areas of downtown are limited to 2 hours.

The Pine Inn is only 4 blocks from the La Playa Hotel where the first 2 days of your training will be held.

Upon booking at the Pine Inn, tell the Front Desk you’re with the “Appraisers Success Group”. A block of rooms have been set aside for our group at $189/night + tax.

For guests staying at the Pine Inn, a buffet breakfast is offered Monday-Friday and included in your room stay. Breakfast is served from 8:00am to 10:00am. You’re welcome to bring your meal inside the training room.

Guests not staying at the Pine Inn may purchase the buffet breakfast for $15.00 though some other hotels do offer breakfast included in their stay as well. You're welcome to bring your food into the training room with you on Monday & Tuesday.
